Derek Parkin became a Wolverhampton Wanderers legend after joining from Huddersfield Town in 1968, developing into an exceptionally consistent left-back during one of the club’s strongest modern eras; nicknamed “Squeak,” Parkin became Wolves’ record appearance holder with 609 first-team games, combining dependable defending with excellent stamina and overlapping ability; he helped Wolves reach the 1972 UEFA Cup final, won the League Cup in both 1974 and 1980, and contributed to promotion back to the First Division in 1976–77; remarkably reliable across 14 years at Molineux, Parkin played alongside figures such as John Richards, Kenny Hibbitt and Derek Dougan, securing his status as one of Wolves’ greatest servants.
