Derek Parkin is one of Wolves’ greatest servants and still holds the club record for most appearances, with 609 in all competitions, including a record 501 league games. Signed from Huddersfield Town in 1968, the left-back gave Wolves remarkable consistency for 14 years and was known for reliability rather than flair. He played in the side that reached the 1972 UEFA Cup final, won the League Cup in 1974 and 1980, and also helped Wolves win the Second Division title in 1976–77. He is a Wolves Hall of Famer and one of the club’s true long-term legends.
