Derek Dougan was one of Wolves’ great centre-forwards and a major figure in the club’s 1970s side. Signed from Leicester City in 1967, he scored 123 goals in 323 appearances for Wolves and formed a famous strike partnership with John Richards. He helped the club win promotion in 1967, reach the 1972 UEFA Cup final, and lift the League Cup in 1974. Strong, charismatic and highly influential, Dougan was admired for both his goalscoring and personality. He is a Wolves Hall of Famer and remains one of the most fondly remembered forwards in the club’s history.
