Martin Peters was one of the most gifted players to represent West Ham United and a key figure in the club’s golden 1960s era. A versatile, intelligent midfielder-forward, he was known for his timing, movement, and ability to arrive in the right place to score. Peters helped West Ham win the FA Cup in 1964 and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1965, forming part of the famous core alongside Bobby Moore and Geoff Hurst. He later scored for England in the 1966 World Cup final, but at West Ham he was admired for his class, consistency, and understated brilliance.
