Tim Howard is one of the greatest players in US men’s national team history and arguably their best-ever goalkeeper. He earned 121 caps, the most by any USMNT keeper, and recorded 42 clean sheets for the United States. He played at the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups, becoming the starter in the latter two tournaments. Howard is most famously linked with the 2014 World Cup match against Belgium, when he made a tournament-record 15 saves in a single game. Known for reflexes, leadership, and durability, he remains one of the defining figures of modern U.S. soccer.
