Landon Donovan is one of the greatest players in U.S. men’s soccer history. He earned 157 caps, scored 57 goals, and provided a record 58 assists for the USMNT, making him the team’s joint top scorer and all-time assist leader. He played in three World Cups and is especially remembered for his dramatic stoppage-time winner against Algeria in 2010, one of the biggest goals in U.S. soccer history. At club level, he starred mainly with LA Galaxy. Fast, intelligent, and decisive in big moments, Donovan is widely seen as the defining American player of his era.
