Mauricio Taricco was a dependable, no-nonsense defender for Spurs from 1998 to 2004, signed from Ipswich and used mainly at left-back but also across the back line. Not flashy, but tough in the tackle, positionally solid, and very consistent—exactly the kind of player managers trusted in big games. He was part of the side that won the 1999 League Cup, featuring in the final squad during that run, and he became a regular starter through some turbulent years at the club. Taricco’s remembered fondly for reliability, competitiveness, and quietly doing his job without fuss.
