Paul Robinson was Tottenham’s first-choice goalkeeper for most of the mid-2000s, arriving from Leeds in 2004 and quickly becoming a fan favourite. An athletic shot-stopper with strong reflexes, he was often outstanding in one-on-ones and had long spells of consistent form as Spurs climbed toward the European places. His time included the club’s 2006 League Cup final (lost to Blackburn on pens) and plenty of big performances that helped steady a developing side. Robinson could be prone to occasional high-profile errors—especially dealing with crosses—but at his best he was top-class and even won England caps while at Spurs.
