Steve Perryman is Tottenham’s record appearance-maker and one of the club’s defining leaders. Debuting in 1969, he played for Spurs until 1986, racking up a remarkable 850+ games across all competitions. Originally a midfielder who could also fill in at the back, Perryman was known for consistency, intelligence, and relentless standards—captain for long stretches and the glue of multiple great sides. He won major honours including the 1971 and 1973 League Cups, the 1972 UEFA Cup, and the 1981 and 1982 FA Cups. For many fans, he embodies Spurs loyalty and professionalism.
