Glenn Hoddle is Tottenham’s homegrown genius: an elegant playmaker with vision, technique, and passing range that felt a level above everyone else. Breaking through in the mid-1970s, he became the creative heartbeat of Spurs, able to dictate games with disguised through-balls, pinpoint long passes, and deadly set pieces. He helped win major trophies, including the 1978 League Cup and the back-to-back FA Cups in 1981 and 1982, and he was a star of the early-1980s side. Hoddle left for Monaco in 1987, but remains the benchmark for “Spurs football.”
