Mousa Dembélé was the engine of Tottenham’s best modern side: a powerful, press-resistant midfielder who made the game look easy. Signed from Fulham in 2012, he was at his peak under Mauricio Pochettino, gliding past opponents, shielding the ball like a forward, and turning pressure into attacks with a single swivel. His impact often went beyond stats—he controlled tempo, won duels, and gave Spurs dominance in midfield. Teammates and opponents regularly called him one of the hardest players to face. Dembélé made over 240 appearances before leaving for China in 2019, remembered as a cult-hero genius.
