Stephen Carr was Tottenham’s first-choice right-back through much of the late 1990s and early 2000s: quick, hardworking, and reliable. A Spurs academy product who broke into the first team in the early Premier League era, he offered consistent overlapping runs, solid one-v-one defending, and a real engine down the flank. Carr was part of the 1999 League Cup-winning squad and became a mainstay as Spurs navigated a turbulent period of managerial changes. He left in 2004 for Newcastle after making well over 200 appearances, remembered as a steady, honest pro from the club’s own pipeline.
