Dimitar Berbatov’s two seasons at Spurs (2006–2008) were pure class. A languid, supremely technical striker, he brought control and imagination to the final third—killing balls dead, linking play, and finishing with either foot. He formed a brilliant partnership with Robbie Keane and was the attacking focal point as Spurs ended their trophy drought by winning the 2008 League Cup, scoring in the final against Chelsea. Berbatov hit 46 goals in 102 games for the club, turning White Hart Lane into his stage with moments of effortless brilliance. He left for Manchester United in 2008, but remains a cult hero.
