Tottenham Hotspur won the 1981 FA Cup after a dramatic final against Manchester City, drawing 1–1 at Wembley before winning the replay 3–2 five days later; the replay became famous for Ricky Villa’s extraordinary winning goal, when the Argentine dribbled past several City defenders before calmly finishing, while Glenn Hoddle and Garth Crooks were also central to Keith Burkinshaw’s talented side; captain Steve Perryman lifted Tottenham’s sixth FA Cup, and Villa’s breathtaking strike was later voted Wembley’s Goal of the Century, making the triumph one of the defining moments in Spurs history.
