Lee Trundle became a Swansea City cult hero after joining from Wrexham in 2003, captivating supporters with his flair, spectacular goals, tricks and larger-than-life personality; the striker helped Swansea win promotion from League Two in 2004–05 and then the Football League Trophy in 2006, scoring in the 2–1 final victory over Carlisle United at the Millennium Stadium; Trundle regularly produced outstanding goals and became one of the lower leagues’ most recognisable players, scoring over 80 goals during his first spell before joining Bristol City for £1 million in 2007; he returned to Swansea in 2009, strengthening his status as one of the most entertaining and popular players of the club’s modern era.
