Alan Curtis is one of the most beloved figures in the history of Swansea City A.F.C.. A talented forward with pace and creativity, Curtis played a major role in Swansea’s dramatic rise under John Toshack during the late 1970s and early 1980s, helping the club climb from the Fourth Division to the First Division. Curtis had multiple spells as a player with Swansea and became deeply associated with the club because of his loyalty and long service. After retiring, he remained at Swansea in coaching and caretaker managerial roles for decades, becoming a trusted presence through many different eras of the club’s history. Supporters admire Curtis not only for his footballing contribution, but because he represents Swansea’s identity and connection to the local community. Few individuals are more closely linked with the club.
