Roker Park was Sunderland AFC’s home in Sunderland from 1898 to 1997—99 years of cramped, atmospheric football anchored by iconic stands like the Roker End, Fulwell End and the Clock Stand. Opened on 10 September 1898, it evolved through major early-20th-century redesign work associated with Archibald Leitch. Its final capacity was about 22,500, yet it once drew a record 75,118. After the move to Stadium of Light, it was demolished in 1998 and redeveloped.
