Mark Stein was a popular Stoke City striker in the early 1990s. Quick, intelligent and clinical in front of goal, he became a key player under Lou Macari. Stein played a major role in Stoke winning the 1992 Football League Trophy at Wembley and helped the club secure promotion from the Third Division in 1992–93. His goals and movement made him one of the division’s standout forwards. Although he later played for Chelsea and other clubs, his spell at the Victoria Ground remains fondly remembered by Stoke supporters.
