Mike Pejic was a key defender in Stoke City’s successful 1970s side under Tony Waddington. A tall, composed left-back, he became known for consistency, intelligence and strong defensive positioning. Pejic played an important role in Stoke winning the 1972 League Cup, the club’s first major trophy, and helped the club compete regularly near the top of the First Division. He also earned England recognition during his time at the Victoria Ground. Reliable and understated, Pejic remains closely associated with one of Stoke’s greatest eras.
