Stoke City FC won promotion to the Premier League in 2008 under Tony Pulis, ending a 23-year absence from the top flight. Stoke finished 2nd in the Championship behind West Bromwich Albion, built on defensive organisation, physical strength and intense home form at the Britannia Stadium. Key players included Ryan Shawcross, Liam Lawrence, Rory Delap and Ricardo Fuller. The decisive moment came with a final-day win over Leicester City, sealing promotion and sparking huge celebrations. That season laid the foundation for Stoke’s long Premier League era and their later FA Cup final appearance in 2011.
