Joe Redmond has become one of St Patrick’s Athletic’s most important modern defenders. A centre-back wearing number 4, he joined the club ahead of the 2022 season, quickly became captain in July that year, and was named the club’s 2022 Senior Player of the Year. A St Pat’s supporter growing up, he has mixed leadership with consistency and a threat from set pieces, earning the nickname “The Rock of Richmond.” He helped the club win the 2023 FAI Cup and the 2023–24 Leinster Senior Cup, and he was also named in the PFAI Team of the Year in both 2022 and 2024.
