Christy Fagan was one of St Patrick’s Athletic’s most important strikers of the modern era. He joined from Bohemians ahead of the 2012 season and became a major goalscorer, helping the Saints win the 2013 League of Ireland title and the 2014 FAI Cup. His finest year was 2014, when he scored 20 league goals, finished as the division’s joint top scorer, won the PFAI Player of the Year award, and scored both goals in the 2–0 FAI Cup final win over Derry City. St Pat’s also list him as the club’s record scorer in European competition with 6 goals.
