St Patrick’s Athletic’s 2013 season was one of the biggest in the club’s history. Under Liam Buckley, they won the League of Ireland Premier Division, finishing ahead of Dundalk to claim their eighth league title and their first since 1999. It was a smart, balanced side built around players like Conan Byrne, Chris Forrester, Killian Brennan and Brendan Clarke. Byrne finished as their top scorer with 13 goals in all competitions. Outside the league, St Pat’s reached the quarter-finals of both the FAI Cup and League Cup. In simple terms, 2013 was the year St Pat’s finally turned a strong team into champions.
