Frank McGarvey is celebrated as one of the greatest strikers in the history of St Mirren F.C.. Across two spells in Paisley, he scored more than 100 goals in over 340 appearances, helping the club win the old First Division title in 1976–77 under Alex Ferguson before returning to play a key role in the famous 1987 Scottish Cup Final triumph. A prolific goalscorer renowned for his sharp finishing and tireless work rate, McGarvey became a St Mirren Hall of Fame inductee and remains one of the club's most iconic and admired players.
