St Mirren won the 1987 Scottish Cup with a famous 1–0 victory over Dundee United after extra time at Hampden Park; managed by Alex Smith and featuring a talented young side, Saints secured the trophy when Ian Ferguson scored the winning goal in the 111th minute, while goalkeeper Campbell Money produced an outstanding performance, making St Mirren the last Scottish Cup-winning team to field a starting XI made up entirely of Scottish players and delivering one of the greatest days in the club’s history.
