John Gerald Brogan (born 9 March 1954) is a St Johnstone great and the club’s record goalscorer. A sharp, intelligent striker rather than a pure bruiser, he joined Saints from Albion Rovers in February 1977 and went on to score 114 league goals in 244 league games for St Johnstone (1977–84). He was First Division joint-top scorer in 1979–80 and 1982–83, and in 1982–83 he hit 36 goals in all competitions as Saints won the First Division title and promotion. Fans twice voted him Supporters’ Player of the Year.
