St Johnstone won the 2020–21 Scottish Cup by beating Hibernian 1–0 in the final at Hampden Park on 22 May 2021—played behind closed doors due to Covid restrictions. The winner came from Shaun Rooney, who powered in a header in the 32nd minute from a David Wotherspoon delivery. Saints also had a late chance to make it safe, but Hibs keeper Matt Macey saved Glenn Middleton’s penalty. Managed by Callum Davidson, the win completed a domestic cup double (after the League Cup triumph in February) and sealed the greatest season in the club’s history.
