St Johnstone won the 2014 Scottish Cup by beating Dundee United 2–0 at Celtic Park on 17 May 2014 (Hampden was unavailable due to refurbishment for the Commonwealth Games). Steven Anderson headed them in just before half-time (45+1’) and Steven MacLean sealed it late (84’), with Anderson named man of the match in front of 47,345 fans. Managed by Tommy Wright, Saints’ run to the final included wins over Livingston (2–0), Forfar (4–0), Raith (3–1) and Aberdeen (2–1). It was the club’s first-ever Scottish Cup and earned Europa League qualification.
