Matt Le Tissier’s most famous goal came against Newcastle United in 1993, and it is often called one of the greatest solo goals in Premier League history. Picking up the ball just inside his own half, Le Tissier drove forward, rode two tackles, skipped past another defender, and calmly chipped the goalkeeper. The run, strength, balance, and finish were pure class. The goal symbolised everything about Le Tissier: flair, power, elegance, and loyalty to Southampton. It remains an iconic moment and is still regularly voted among the best goals ever scored in English football.
