Rickie Lambert became a Southampton legend after joining from Bristol Rovers in 2009, spearheading the club’s remarkable rise from League One to the Premier League; a powerful striker renowned for his finishing, link-up play and exceptional penalties, Lambert helped Saints win the Football League Trophy in 2010, promotion from League One in 2010–11 and then a second successive promotion from the Championship in 2011–12; he continued scoring regularly in the Premier League, eventually earning an England call-up aged 31 and scoring with his first touch on his international debut; Lambert scored 117 goals in 235 appearances for Southampton before completing an emotional move to boyhood club Liverpool in 2014.
