Gavin Peers was one of the key figures in Sligo Rovers’ modern golden spell. The centre-back joined in 2006 and went on to make 275 league appearances for the club, becoming a leader at the back and one of the team’s most recognisable players. He was central to the side that won the 2012 League of Ireland title, plus three FAI Cups in 2010, 2011 and 2013, the 2010 League Cup, and the 2014 Setanta Sports Cup. Peers also delivered big moments himself, including the winning goal in the 2010 FAI Cup semi-final against Bohemians.
