Tony Fagan is one of the biggest names in Sligo Rovers history. A local player who lived near the Showgrounds, he spent 20 years with the club from 1967 to 1987 and became their record appearance holder. More than just a long-serving player, he was central to two of Sligo’s defining triumphs: the 1976–77 League of Ireland title and the 1983 FAI Cup, when he captained the side to the club’s first-ever win in the competition. In simple terms, Fagan’s legacy is built on loyalty, leadership and longevity, making him one of the ultimate Rovers icons.
