Eoin Doyle was a major part of Sligo Rovers’ rise in the late 2000s and early 2010s. He joined in July 2009 and quickly became an important striker, scoring on his debut and later netting in the 2009 FAI Cup final, although Rovers lost that one. His best spell came over the next two seasons: he helped Sligo win the 2010 FAI Cup and League Cup double, then scored 25 goals in all competitions in 2011 as they won another FAI Cup and finished second in the league. Across his Sligo spell, he scored 38 goals in 116 competitive appearances.
