Raffaele Cretaro is one of the biggest names in Sligo Rovers history. A hometown player from Tubbercurry, he spent 17 seasons across three spells with the club and became their all-time appearance holder, finishing with over 500 games for Rovers. Versatile enough to play in attack, midfield or at full-back, he was valued as much for commitment and longevity as for flair. His honours with Sligo included the 2005 First Division title, the 2011 FAI Cup, the 2012 League of Ireland title, the 2013 FAI Cup, and the 2014 Setanta Sports Cup. In simple terms, Cretaro was the ultimate long-serving modern Rovers man.
