Damien Duff was the manager who restored Shelbourne to the top of Irish football. Appointed in November 2021, he quickly made Shels far more organised, combative and hard to beat, leading them to the 2022 FAI Cup final and then to the 2024 League of Ireland title, their first league championship since 2006. He added the President’s Cup in February 2025, but then resigned in June 2025, ending a short but hugely influential spell. In simple terms, Duff gave Shelbourne belief, identity and silverware, and his time at Tolka Park is now seen as one of the club’s key modern managerial eras.
