Frank O’Neill was a major figure in one of Shamrock Rovers’ greatest sides. Signed in 1961 after a spell with Arsenal, the Dublin-born winger went on to play more than 300 games for Rovers and became central to their famous dominance in the 1960s. He won the League of Ireland title in 1963–64 and was one of the few players to collect all six FAI Cup medals in Rovers’ historic six-in-a-row from 1964 to 1969. O’Neill also contributed key goals in cup runs, including in the 1966 and 1967 finals, making him one of the club’s standout wide players of that era.
