Willie Miller is one of the greatest defenders in Scottish football history and the iconic captain of Aberdeen F.C.’s golden era. A composed centre-back and natural leader, he spent almost his entire career at Pittodrie, making a club-record 797 appearances and lifting trophy after trophy under Alex Ferguson. He captained Aberdeen to two European trophies (the 1983 European Cup Winners’ Cup and 1983 UEFA Super Cup) plus multiple domestic honours. For Scotland national football team he won 65 caps (1975–1989) and played at the 1982 and 1986 World Cups.
