The history of the Scotland national football team is filled with legendary players, but few are held in higher regard than Jim Baxter, Denis Law, Kenny Dalglish and Archie Gemmill. Jim Baxter was the midfield genius of the 1960s, famous for his swagger, vision and ability to control matches. His success with Celtic and Liverpool made him a global football icon. Archie Gemmill is immortalised for one moment above all others: his magnificent solo goal against the Netherlands at the 1978 World Cup, often voted one of the greatest goals in tournament history. Together, these four players represent the skill, confidence and attacking flair that defined some of Scotland’s finest footballing generations.
