James McFadden’s goal against France in 2007 is widely regarded as one of the greatest moments in Scotland national football team history. In a Euro 2008 qualifier at the Stade de France, McFadden collected the ball 30 yards from goal and unleashed a ferocious right-footed strike into the top corner, leaving the goalkeeper helpless. The goal sealed a famous 1–0 victory over France national football team, who were reigning World Cup runners-up. Scored under intense pressure, it symbolised belief, fearlessness, and defiance, and remains an iconic highlight of modern Scottish football.
