Billy Bremner was a fierce, competitive midfielder who became a key figure for the Scotland national football team in the late 1960s and 1970s. He won 54 caps (1965–1975) and scored 3 goals, bringing bite, leadership, and relentless energy to Scotland’s midfield. Billy Bremner captained Scotland at the 1974 World Cup, where the team went unbeaten but still went out on goal difference. He’s remembered internationally as a driven organiser who set standards and embodied Scotland’s hard edge in that era.
