Jim Baxter was one of Scotland national football team’s most naturally gifted players: a silky, swaggering midfield controller with outrageous touch and passing. He won 34 caps (1960–1967) and scored 3 goals, and he’s immortal in Scottish folklore for the 1967 Wembley win over England, where his calm dominance (and the “keepie-uppie” showboating) became legend. Baxter also played at the 1962 World Cup in Chile. His Scotland story is pure cult-hero brilliance—talent so obvious that even his opponents noticed, and a style that screamed confidence.
