Scott Boyd (born 4 June 1986) is a Scottish former centre-back who made his name in the Highlands. After starting at Livingston and playing for Partick Thistle, he joined Ross County on loan in 2007 and permanently in January 2008, going on to become a long-serving mainstay (and cult-hero “Ginger Pele”). He became County’s record appearance holder (since joining the Scottish League) in August 2015 and won the Challenge Cup (2010–11) plus the Scottish League Cup (2015–16) with the Staggies. Later he moved to Kilmarnock (loan, then permanent) before retiring in 2019 to become Ross County sporting director. In April 2021, St Johnstone appointed him head of football operations.
