Míchel Salgado’s Real Madrid career was about intensity, consistency, and total commitment on the right flank. He joined in 1999 and spent 10 seasons at the club, making 371 appearances. Real Madrid describe him as a tireless right-back who owned the flank in both defence and attack, with the competitive edge and winning mentality to become a fan favourite. During his time in Madrid, he helped the club win major honours including 2 European Cups and 4 La Liga titles. Salgado was not the most glamorous Galáctico-era name, but he gave the team aggression, reliability, and balance, making him one of the club’s most respected defenders of that era.
