Luka Modrić joined Real Madrid in 2012 and became the club’s midfield reference point: press-resistant, tempo-setting, and elite at controlling games with first touch, scanning, and line-breaking passing. He was central to Madrid’s dominant era, winning six Champions Leagues and multiple league titles, and in 2018 he broke the Messi–Ronaldo streak by winning the Ballon d’Or. After extending his deal to 30 June 2025, he left Madrid in summer 2025.
