Marcelo played for Real Madrid from 2007 to 2022, becoming one of the club’s defining modern full-backs. A left-back who often operated like a winger in possession, he combined close control, creativity, and constant overlapping runs with big-game experience and leadership—eventually captaining the side. He won a huge trophy haul, including 5 Champions Leagues (part of the 2014 “La Décima” team and the 2016–18 three-peat) and 6 La Liga titles, and finished as one of Madrid’s most decorated players. His long partnership down the left—especially with Cristiano Ronaldo—became a hallmark of Madrid’s peak years.
