Andy Goram is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of Rangers F.C.. Nicknamed “The Goalie,” Goram played for Rangers between 1991 and 1998 and was a cornerstone of the club’s famous Nine-in-a-Row era. Renowned for his lightning reflexes, bravery and ability to produce extraordinary saves in the biggest matches, Goram became a hero at Ibrox. His performance against Leeds United F.C. in the 1992–93 Champions League campaign is often cited as one of the finest goalkeeping displays ever seen from a Rangers player. That season, Rangers came within one match of reaching the inaugural Champions League final. During his time at the club, Goram won multiple league titles, Scottish Cups and League Cups, forming part of a legendary team alongside Richard Gough, Ally McCoist, Brian Laudrup and Paul Gascoigne. He was named Scottish Football Writers' Player of the Year in 1993, a rare achievement for a goalkeeper. For many Rangers supporters, Andy Goram remains the finest goalkeeper ever to wear the club’s colours. His remarkable shot-stopping ability, big-game performances and contribution to one of Rangers’ most successful eras have secured his status as an Ibrox legend.
