Allan McGregor is one of the greatest goalkeepers in the modern history of Rangers F.C.. A product of the Rangers academy, McGregor made his debut in 2002 and went on to become a key figure across two highly successful spells at Ibrox. Known for his outstanding reflexes, bravery and ability to make crucial saves in big matches, McGregor helped Rangers win multiple league titles and domestic cups. After returning to the club in 2018, he played a vital role in Rangers’ revival under Steven Gerrard, helping secure the historic 55th league title in 2020–21 with an unbeaten campaign and the best defensive record in the league. McGregor was also central to Rangers’ memorable run to the 2022 UEFA Europa League Final, producing a series of outstanding performances against Borussia Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade, Braga and RB Leipzig. His saves in Europe became a defining feature of that campaign and reinforced his reputation as a goalkeeper who thrived under pressure. For many supporters, McGregor ranks alongside Andy Goram among the finest goalkeepers ever to represent Rangers. His longevity, consistency and big-match mentality have secured his place as an Ibrox legend.
