Richard Gough is one of the greatest captains in the history of Rangers F.C.. Joining Rangers in 1987, the commanding centre-back became the leader of the side that dominated Scottish football during the famous Nine-in-a-Row era. Renowned for his composure, defensive intelligence and leadership, Gough captained Rangers to numerous league titles and domestic cups while setting the standards for professionalism and determination at Ibrox. He was the cornerstone of a team featuring Ally McCoist, Andy Goram, Brian Laudrup and Paul Gascoigne. For many supporters, Gough remains the defining captain of Rangers’ modern golden era and one of the club’s all-time legends.
