Maurice Edu at Rangers (2008–2012) was a classic “engine-room” spell: athletic, versatile, and packed with big moments. Signed from Toronto FC for a reported £2.6m in August 2008, Edu became a powerful midfield option (and occasional defender) and helped Rangers win the Scottish Premier League three times. He’s remembered for clutch goals—most famously a 93rd-minute Old Firm winner vs Celtic in February 2010—and for a dramatic Champions League night against Valencia in October 2010, when he scored Rangers’ opener but also headed an own goal in a 1–1 draw. Edu left for Stoke City in August 2012 after Rangers entered administration.
