The legendary “Nine in a Row” era of Rangers F.C. from 1989 to 1997 remains one of the most successful periods in British football history. Rangers won nine consecutive Scottish league titles, dominating Scottish football through a combination of world-class talent, strong leadership and relentless consistency. At the heart of the team was Andy Goram, widely regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers ever to play in Scotland. Captain Richard Gough provided leadership and defensive strength, while Ally McCoist became the club’s goalscoring hero, winning multiple league titles and Golden Boots. The arrival of Paul Gascoigne in 1995 brought extraordinary creativity and flair, helping Rangers secure the final two titles of the sequence. Alongside him, Brian Laudrup mesmerised supporters with his pace, skill and elegance, earning recognition as one of the greatest players ever to wear a Rangers shirt. Together, Goram, Gough, McCoist, Gascoigne and Laudrup symbolised an era of dominance that defined Rangers in the 1990s and cemented their place among the club’s all-time legends.
